Todays blog features the koenigsegg agera r from the goodwood festival of speed 2012.

There were two agera r's on display at the 2012 festival, one in the supercar display running up the hill and parking in the supercar area, the other was on the michelin stand due to the use of the pilot super sport tyres.

The Agera r is simply stunning in the flesh, low,aggressive and wild to name but afew things that strike you at first. Not many cars can be placed next to a pearl yellow gumpert apollo and still grab your attention.

Some facts and figures for the agera r:
5.0 litre v8 twin turbo.
940bhp on 98 octane fuel
1099bhp on e85.
885lb ft of torque on e85
A ridiculous 737+lb ft of torque available from 2,700rpm to 6,170rpm.
1290kg
1.6g cornering force
0-60:2.9s
0-186:14.53s
260mph+ although never proven.

The car is made up with staggering figures, it currently holds 6 Guinness world records including 0-200 mph - 17.68s and a braking record of 200-0 mph - 7.28s.

The car uses koenigsegg's triplex suspension system on the rear, where each wheel gets a shock and spring connected. This system works alongside the normal suspension.

There is a new agera r due out in 2013, with upgrades to the 5.0 litre v8s internal,engine management and an increased rev limit of 7500rpm. The new power output on e85 will be 1140bhp. The new car will also get a new one piece hollow carbon wheel, further downforce,new lighter exhaust and a new suspension setup.

I have never understood why the koenigsegg's don't have the kind of appeal of the pagani's, they are both stunning car's, beautifully built both very expensive. There's certainly more bang for your buck in the agera r but they never seem anywhere near as popular. Pagani can sell cars costing 1.6 million and it seems to be THE car to own for wealthy owners, the koenigsegg just doesn't seem to have that draw. Alot of this could be down to marketing and people's involvement. There's not many road tests or video's relating to the koenigsegg's in relation to the thousands of video's of zonda's etc.

Audi at the goodwood festival of speed 2012.

Today's blog will cover audi at the goodwood festival of speed 2012. Audi had one of if not the best display at the good wood festival of speed, very large and the cars had generous amounts of space around them, most were also open to have sit inside. The new Rs4 avant was on show in the striking orange colour along with, previous rs4's. The tt rs plus was on display,rs5, Audi R8 limited edition, the new S7 and the a1 Quattro. The Le mans Audi R18 e-tron was also in action on the hill.

Mclaren unveiled a new livery adorned mp4-12 gt3 titled a GREAT briton.

The updated Mclaren MP4-12c road car
The new updated Mp4-12c was presented at the 2012 festival of speed in the stunning volcano red colour option and the lightweight forged alloy wheels with a diamond cut finish. The upgrades are based around enhancing the driving experience, power is up by 25ps to 625ps, the throttle and gearshift have also been modified. A wider variety of styling options has also been added including the new Volcano yellow finish.

The car was located throughout the festival in the supercar paddock and im a big fan of the volcano red paint and the forged wheels. The paint finish on this car is really something.





Lark Mclaren f1 gtr
The beautiful 1996 jgtc lark mclaren was also on display and was going up the hill.





The Mclaren 12c spider

Today's blog update will feature the modified cars from the goodwood festival of speed 2012.

There were various tuners and modified vehicles on show and I must say the standard was very high of these cars.

Brabus sls 700

There was afew brabus cars on display ones of note were the Brabus sls 700. Having driven an sls convertible the last thing that came into my head is, this could do with more power and twin turbo's :) but clearly brabus felt the need. The conversion to biturbo costs 79.900,00 euros and put power up to 700bhp and gives 627lb ft of torque. To have brabus purchase the car (with options) and convert it into the car seen today comes in at £328,643,38 pretty hefty price but at least it's a pretty full on conversion inc interior.

0-120mph:10.2s
Vmax:213mph





Brabus 800 e v12 cabriolet.

This stunning brabus e class cabriolet, obviously being brabus it is no ordinary e class, this one has a v12 dropped in up front and if that wasn't fast enough they bi turbo it. 800bhp and 1047lb ft of torque although it's electronically limited to 811lb ft. No suprise is the fact it runs a reinforced gearbox with 5 gears (rare in this current day and age) the performance figures for this car are truly staggering:

0-60:3.7s
0-120:9.9s
0-180:23.9
Vmax:230 mph




Bespoke


The bespoke stand was certainly eye grabbing, partly down to the blue range rover visible from miles away and secondly down to the rather menacing looking cars on display. The bespoke cars are beautifully done with a great factory finish on all upgrades and the interior work is stunning.

Litchfield

Litchfield were on the michelin stand and had there stunning lm900 gtr on display. This car is a great sleeper, the matt silver wrap very discreet and nothing outlandish but a real classy looking car. The wheels filled the arches nicely and the alcon brakes looked great and would provide much needed extra stopping power especially when your gtr is packing a 900bhp punch. A real thumbs up for litchfield for this car, beautifully done, it almost passes for standard.







Overfinch

Overfinch had some lovely work on display, they have such a high standard of work and really pull off the oem+ look.

It's nice to see such works of art getting there place at goodwood, alot of work has gone into these vehicles and it's all top work.
